Best sherpa homestay in Kathmandu

We stayed two nights at sherpa sweet home from the recommendation of my friend who went to Nepal and meet Pasang sherpa and his family at their home in Kathmandu. They owned a beautiful sherpa sweet home in nice location, quiet and beautiful living area in Kathmandu, taxi and local vehicles are in walking distance, home is bit inside main road and so it is quiet and best place to stay if you are looking for quiet homestay in Kathmandu. Pasang and their family made very delicious dinner and breakfast, they always teach us how to make Nepali meals- Dhalbhat, momo, sherpa foods and more, room is comfortable with hot shower inside attached bathroom. we have plenty of drinking water, tea, coffee during our stay, it is free. we ate together all the times with pasang’s family and they are very friendly and welcoming. we had such a great time with them in Kathmandu, they helped us to arrange city tours too.
we look forward to go back again.

Outstanding sherpa homestay Hospitality in Nepal, wonderful experience

This homestay is Fantastic! one of my best homestay in Kathmandu. we found outstanding hospitality.
We had an absolutely memorable stay in Sherpa sweet home because of service by owner. The Sherpa foods they cooked for us in dinner was so delicious, specially the potato bread and vegetable cheese momo’s. it is homestay and can’t expect like big stars hotel for choices of foods but they served us level above the 5 stars foods, its typical, hygienic and organic and this homestay focus more for fresh vegetables than meat products. It’s awesome for healthy life.
Location of homestay is perfect. All the Kathmandu’s monuments are easily accessible by Taxi or few monuments can reach by local bus too. Shopping center, cafes, restaurants, hospitals, banks, ATMS are in walking distance. Anyone can walk 5-7 min to enjoy coffee shops or choices of restaurants, bars and any shopping.
Our king sized bed room is awesome, it’s comfortable, spacious, clean and attached bath room. Bathroom is full of towels, shampoos, toothpaste and all necessary cleaning supplies for us, water boiler and large bottles of mineral water, choice of teas( Green tea, black tea, mashala tea) with coffee is ready to drink anytime. So there are plenty of drinks in room. Our room has balcony view and was great.
We also had great breakfast, choice of eggs, fried potatoes, vegetables, toast or pancake, they can serve it at room or at common dinning area. They well managed timetable for dinner and breakfast,
Dave Saul,

The best homestay in Kathmandu- Sherpa sweet Home, deluxe room, the best Sherpa & Nepali dinner in Kathmandu

This is my 4th visit to Nepal. I already been Nepal 3 times as solo private trip and I used to stay in hotels organized by trekking agency. But this time, I was travelling with my teenager’s child aged 16 and 19, for their dream trip to see mount Everest and meeting with local Sherpa people of Nepal. During my search of local homestay in Kathmandu, I found Sherpa sweet home can meet my kids choice. I emailed them about our booking for 4 people of family, the host Pasang Sherpa immediately responded us in 30 minutes of our first inquiry and show us his pleasure to warm welcome at their Sherpa sweet home, it is one of quickest response first time I have got. Such a brilliant Job and I found Pasang sherpa is so kind to accommodate us in his homestay.

We booked two rooms for four nights stay and they offer us free Airport pick for our family and Pasang was in Airport to welcome us by garland and took us at Sherpa sweet home. He gave us full briefing about his homestay rooms, sharing dining, kitchen hall, living room, terrace view and surrounding areas of homestay. He gave us details of Sherpa and Nepalese local dishes cook and homemade by his wife, mother and himself. It was so delicious Sherpa meals and Nepalese meals during our stay, we had very healthy breakfast and full of drinking water, tea or coffee all the time ready to serve. They always taught our kids, my husband and I about life of Sherpas, Teenage of Pasang Sherpa, his experience of world travel, trekking in Himalayas. Pasang has one son and his name is Norbu Sherpa who is so friendly, welcoming boy for our kids to share cultures and school days and his interest. This helped a lot to understand our kids about life of Nepalese student and their school.

Our rooms are very clean, comfortable beds rooms and attached bathroom with hot water for showers. It is similar to star hotels with necessary towels, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, sleepers, hair dryer, dressing table and basic needs including water boiler to make tea or coffee at rooms. Only they don’t have Air-condition which is not necessary for their rooms but they kept fan for cooling rooms.
Including their self-made Sherpa dinner & breakfast, we found this is one of the best homestay in Kathmandu, its truly high value accommodation for us, specially meeting and staying at Sherpa’s family home from mount Everest. we like to stay again when we plan next trip in Nepal.
